Read Mark 3:22 And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons." (NIV)
Nobody could deny the amazingly powerful miracles that Jesus was doing: even those whose authority was upset by Him. What they did not like was the implication that He had come from God ... or, worse still, that He might be God, Messiah. That would have been the end to their power and self-importance.
Satan does have a lot of power - hardly anything compared to God - and then only 'by permission'. However, evil power is much stronger than human power. So, would it be possible for demonic power to lie behind the miracles of Jesus? Look at the evidence: the only evidence is of people healed, released, rejoicing and trusting in Jesus ... hardly works of demonic darkness!
They were so determined to find fault with Jesus that they invented a daft idea - that Satan could get Jesus to do drive out demons. Preposterous!
The ability of spiritually blind people to miss the point is staggering. Don't get upset with them; just keep on explaining that Jesus can only be God in a human body. That is where all the evidence points!
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You that Jesus is the only true light in the darkness. Help me to love those who cannot grasp who You are, and help me to speak and live so that they might see the evidence of Jesus in my life. In His Name. Amen.
